You Are My North Star

North Star,

You are so distant - and for all men.

Journeying,

I pretend to use you for navigation.

But you see all:

I strive for the heavens and your warmth.

The Hypocrite

There was a madman in the town.
He played the fool, he played the clown,
He thought he played all those around,
He called them fools without a sound.
But then one day without a sign
Came another madman in design.
What was the other man to do?
But whine and brew all through and through.
Oh how the first man was resentful,
Still his suspicions went uneventful.
Until one day he met the man,
And he did quickly scheme a plan -
Against his doppelganger.
He bought a hammer
From the shoppes and finished his double
With a couple chops.
As our dear man sweeps up
The evidence into a pan -
He looks down to see a thousand men.
And in his terror and his fright
Digs two long shards into his eyes-
The image dies.
The image dies.
And so the mad man stays an ass -
Even blind from mirror glass.

Of Which We Lie Together

Behind a veil we lie together -
Warm with flesh and blood.
In this way we deny eachother -
The truth, (we seek genuine love).

Big and Small

have you ever had a fall
feeling big and feeling small
feeling short and feeling tall
curling up into a ball
every corner fall too stifling
everything so very trifling
every wave so hot and cold
every stone so new and old
all dismay and all hope
every tree a kaleidoscope
have you felt like this before
i did once and many more
yet one day I got pulled up
picked from the gravel
thrown in a cart
pulled to a place so far away
as I looked down upon myself,
everything fell onto its shelf
i had forgotten about
the small
child
the dreams, the future, the life
she would have had
had I not forsaken her
in such I was mistaken
for small needs big – to live.
and big needs small – to forgive
like hot needs cold
and new needs old
it all unfolds unto itself
so grow child grow inside of me
ill find a place for you to be
And never let me forget
responsibility to family
don’t let me fail myself

Storm

The thunder roared
The thunder clapped
The wind it blew
And branches snapped

The lightning lit
The sky ablaze
With the cold blue
Of lonely days.

Ode to the Wind

O’ wild wind which comes my way
Wand’ring past me everyday
Wisping past avoiding me
Roaming, whirling ever free.
How I envy you for this
For your liberty and bliss.
Fill my lungs with your sweet scent
Let my senses thus augment.
Lift me up and help me fly
This to me do not deny.
Never could I be as you
But I dare your flight pursue.
Through I may be scared of height
In you, wind, I see a light
Making all that disappear
For that light, I’ll persevere.
Although I know that I will fail
Still I try and bid you sail
Even if it’s without me
The wild wind needs to be free.

Lost in This Translation

Lost in this translation
Of my own thoughts,
It is difficult
To part with the Baedeker
My mother gave me.
